Coronavirus tracing - patient contact

Can we trace a covid 19 patient's phone location onto a map and display it as a route, that the person took in the last 15 days - where all they went that way anyone in that area is alerted if they were in the store at that time to take precautions and self quarantine.

i was thinking of exactly same idea what you have said

Was thinking of being able to use this data to detect where a group of people may have met/caught the virus.

    See https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/03/22/coronavirus-heres-how-it-spread-in-santa-clara-county/?fbclid=IwAR269I7PCDVQEkT94QoOsqRWbeF_oSW-OhnRk4UclRot8241TBPXz3zPtDQ

Privacy would be a concern. So first cut may be for the patients to download their location data and upload it (as json) to the app.

We could identify location/times where these people may have congregated/met and passed on the virus to each other.

One can download the location data using Google Takeout.

    Hey all,

We have started building SafeTrace - a platform for privacy-preserving contact tracing to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic. SafeTrace lets users share sensitive location and health data while protecting privacy. The goal is to create a privacy preserving database a service different location tracking services can collaborate data to without leaking any sensitive information. We are using Trusted Execution Environment technology to achieve this

Come see what we've built and join us as collaborators!

I have been volunteering time with others at SafeTrace API (https://safetraceapi.org), different than the above SafeTrace, with the same objective. I will reach out to the folks here to see how we can join efforts. https://github.com/factn/safetraceapi

Loving this direction as well as the SafeTraceAPI. How might we drive adoption and continued use of this solution?

Hi Guys! I have the same idea! I think that as this is a matter of global problems we have to take a private and public approach when thinking about functional and non functional requirements/resources. I mean that telecoms, social networks, software giants and governments should be involved in the solution.
