Ideas for identification of contact chains

The most effective strategy so far have been to identify, isolate and treat the infected. This discussion if for sharing ideas on how to effectively identify the contact chains.

One Idea is to place Infrared cameras on credit card machines, the every time someone use it there temperature is measured. If it is high, the information is shared with the health authorizes, which can then check up on the person.

Another idea is a facebook app, where you can register if you have tested positive for the infection and who you have been in physical contact with while being sick and the 2 weeks before the first symptoms. The app notify the contacts that they have been in contact with a potential infected (Don't say how) and suggest that they get tested and ask who they have been in physical contact with etc. The information gathered can then be share with local health authorizes.

    Hello Sørensen,
I was having a similar idea but in a more proactive manner. The problem is that the number of confirmed cases in some countries is much lower that the actual number of cases. Instead of registering only when you are tested positive, there could be like a "Are you feeling well?" prompt much like Facebook's crisis response. If you press yes it proceeds to ask you questions that paint a better picture of your exact symptoms. Governments would have access to the addresses of people who are not feeling well as well as the addresses of of people who you were in close contact with 2 weeks before you have started the prompt. What is currently happening (in Egypt and pretty much everywhere else) is that if you have the symptoms they ask you for a list of people you had close contact with. You can imagine, as this depends on memory, how this can fail. If you like, we can team up and join efforts. I am a computer engineering student with good experience in machine learning and some experience in web and app development.

I was thinking about this with mobile phones, but you should really attache social media to this also. Specifically friends list. COVID-19 is spread either through indirect contact, where virus is on a surface, or person to person, usually talking and hanging out. If you had a person's friend list from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, etc... you could put a probability on whether or not a person was in direct contact. If I'm in a store at the same time as a stranger it is most likely contact, but if I'm in the store at the same time as my brother it's probably a direct contact.
It would also be nice if people could opt-in to the system when they took COVID-19 test, and the positive result would then do the contact trace. Not letting people know who had it, but informing those people in contact of their likelyhood of contracting COVID-19. Eventually with enough data a system could start figuring out likelyhood of COVID-19 based on the number of contacts / type of contact.

Mohamed good ideas. With the information one might build a big graphical model which predict the probability of every user being infected , and the one can focus the test effort on high probability users. Mohamed i plan to work on another project so I post the ideas for those who have more expertise with facebook apps. I plan to work on https://devpost.com/software/ai-for-a-cure-molgan where i have more experience.

LOL, David seems like we posted same ides almost at the same time.

    Yes, same idea

Mohammed, with the are you feeling well side of this, could you integrate some of the AI chatbots that are already in existence? I know of two currently.
    https://www.humandx.org/
    and
    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/steps-when-sick.html

But I think that is a wonderful idea. You could have two buttons.
    1. I'm not feeling well - leads to something similar to a chatbot to help diagnose
    2. I'm positive for COVID-19.

I'd wager if you trained the model to do the contact tracing of confirmed COVID-19 it would help the first button decide if you have COVID-19.

The world health should provide a global, communication site, to enable the president of the countries to know what to do, and how to control covid 19 in there country, because it is getting worst and so many countries are not sitting at home

Well think about this. If new outbreaks happen, and this system is in place, it could do a much better job in predicting transmission rates, and locations. Is it possible that a virus does a better job transmitting on days where the weather is below 50 F? This is all data that could be put into a model with the contact tracing. You may even be able to find hotspots, like a hotel is spreading it faster then most other places, and that might be related to a housekeeper. Using geolocation data and social media data as a baseline the tool could be extremely powerful.

My ideal is to crest a machine , or a wire , detector , that can notify someone that have it , or to crest an app that can report the temperature of the person showing the face of the person, for easy tracking
